Julie Chen Moonves Forced To Sit Out Big Brother Live Eviction Due To Covid 19

Julie Chen Moonves Forced to Miss 'Big Brother' Live Eviction Due to COVID-19

CBS Host Tests Positive, Will Miss Thursday's Live Episode

Julie Chen Moonves, the longtime host of the CBS reality competition series "Big Brother," has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to host the show's live eviction episode on Thursday, August 11.

In a statement released by CBS, Moonves said she is "feeling good" and is "experiencing mild symptoms." She added that she is "following all CDC guidelines and will be isolating at home until I am cleared to return to work."

Who Will Host the Eviction Episode?

CBS has not yet announced who will replace Moonves as host of Thursday's live eviction episode. However, several former "Big Brother" houseguests have expressed interest in the job, including Jeff Schroeder, Rachel Reilly, and Janelle Pierzina.

It is also possible that CBS will opt to have a rotating cast of guest hosts for the remaining live eviction episodes of the season. This would allow the network to give multiple former houseguests a chance to experience hosting the show.

What This Means for the Season

Moonves' absence from the live eviction episode is a significant development for the season. She has been the host of "Big Brother" since its inception in 2000, and her presence has become synonymous with the show.

However, it is unlikely that Moonves' absence will have a major impact on the season overall. The live eviction episodes are typically pre-recorded, so Moonves' voiceover will still be heard during the broadcast. Additionally, the show has a strong cast of houseguests this season, so the drama and excitement are likely to continue even without Moonves at the helm.
