Iran vows to avenge the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh who died in an overnight air strike in Tehran according to Iranian media. Israel has vowed to respond to Iran's attack on Saturday and is considering its next steps the countrys army chief says. Terror group Hamas has vowed to avenge the killing of Ismail Haniyeh who was killed in an airstrike in Tehran. The attack came a day after the US assassinated Qasem Soleimani head of Iran's Quds Force. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that avenging Haniyeh's killing is Tehran's “duty”. “We will not rest until we take revenge,” Khamenei said in a televised address. Haniyeh was a senior leader of Hamas the Palestinian Islamist militant group that controls the Gaza Strip. He was killed in an airstrike on Saturday night in the Iranian capital Tehran. The attack was widely condemned by the international community including the United Nations and the European Union. The US has said that it is monitoring the situation and is ready to take action if necessary.
